Second Matchup

An interesting point of note for this round, is there are no two identical seed matchups. The maximum number of combinations was created by the voting. Can the last two two seeds hang on? Will the 15 seeds continue their Cinderella story? It’s all up to you.

Slayers:

Captain Steve Hiller from Independence Day vs. Abraham Lincoln from Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Capt. Steve Hiller is a marine pilot who has showed down against aliens. He can successfully keep the groups spirits lifted and will have no problem volunteering for one way missions.

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president, is in fact a vampire hunter who wields and axe and silver pocket watch. He knows how to handle the most dangerous of the undead, and excels in hand to hand combat, even against faster and stronger foes.

BAMFs:

Maximus from Gladiator vs. Hawkeye from Last of the Mohicans

Maximus was a General in the Roman army, and then became a champion gladiator who stood against a tyrannical emperor. He is exceptional with a sword and on horseback as well as a natural leader.

Hawkeye Natty Bumppo, although the child of white parents, grew up with Delaware Indians Native Americans raised by Moravian Christians, becoming a near-fearless warrior skilled in many weapons, one of which is the long rifle. Hawkeye (one of his many nicknames) hunts only what he needs to survive, and when it comes time to fire his rifle he lives by the rule, “One shot, one kill”. (From Wiki)

Boys with Toys:

Jason Bourne from The Bourne Ultimatum vs. Mike Banning from Olympus has Fallen

Jason Bourne is a professional assassin and covert operative. He is well trained in hand to hand combat, as well as firearms. His knack for reading a situation and escaping definite capture would lead to avoiding hairy situations. The man can calculate everything about a fight and notices every detail of a room.

Mike Banning is a former U.S. Army Ranger Mike Banning is the lead Secret Service agent assigned to head the Presidential Detail. He is skilled in all forms of firearms, infiltration, electronic warfare, hand to hand combat, and tactics.

More than Meets the Eye:

Chuck Noland of Castaway vs. Dr. Jack Shepherd from Lost

Chuck Noland was able to survive a plane crash and years on a desert island with an ice skate, video tape, and a volleyball. He would be able to teach the group how to build shelter, make fire, and procure safe drinking water.

Jack Shepherd plays a key role in the survival of his fellow survivors in the immediate aftermath of the crash, instructing others to help those with injuries and using his medical background to assist the wounded. The survivors look to Jack as their leader. He has the ability to think quickly and analyze crisis situations. Jack intentionally represses fear and anxiety, usually in order to remain strong for other people, as he is the one they turn to during crises.
