Blood Type

Know your blood type. The best way to find this out is by donating blood. Not only will you learn a crucial piece of survival information, but you could be saving someone’s life. For information on where to donate blood check out the Red Cross.

There are four different blood types: A, B, AB, O

O is known as the universal donor because this blood can be transfused with any other type.

A can donate to A and AB

B can donate to B and AB

AB can only be donated to AB, however AB can receive from any other blood type.

Besides blood type there is also positive and negative Rh antigens. With this addition negative blood types can be given to negative patients. However a positive patient can receive either positive or negative.

So your blood type will be something like AB+. This is a crucial bit of information that could mean the difference between life and death for you or someone you know. So, get out there and donate some blood to learn your type.
