Public Service Announcement

Hey folks, if you are reading this, I just wanted to let you know I am alive. I know it has been over a week since my last Survival Tip, so some of you may have become worried. I promise the tips will be resuming shortly, however I am in the final stages of revision on my novel, which consumes 10-14 hours of my day, every day. As much as I love writing my tips, the novel has to come first, so I am concentrating all energy I have into finishing what I hope to be the last revision so you all can have something awesome to read in the near future. I thank any of you who noticed my absence from the internet, and wish you all the best until my full return.

And so I don’t leave you empty handed here is a little piece of dialogue I jotted down for a short story this morning. The conversation takes place between a man in his 40’s and a 16 year old.

“I’ve…got an…idea.”

“Kid, do you even know who Shatner is?”

“Who’s Shatner?”

“Captain Kirk?”

“You mean Chris Pine?”

“No, the first Kirk.”

“I was copying an opossum.”

“You’ve never seen Star Trek?”

“Is that the one with the Ewoks?”

“No, it’s the one with Shatner.”

“I still don’t know who that is.”

“Let’s go. We’re going to find Star Trek.”
