Survival Tip #132
Local Fauna
Learn the local plants of where you live. Identify each tree and plant that can be of use to you, and be certain to note those that are harmful. The last thing you want to do is eat a handful of berries that look delicious and end up dehydrated, weak, and possibly dead. You should never eat a plant you don’t know if safe. The things you want to identify are: What can you eat? What serves as a remedy? What is good for burning? What is good for building? What is harmful?
It is also important to know these things for any area you are likely to travel.
