Drink plenty and often if you have a source of water.
If you find yourself wandering with no idea of when you will find your next drink do not horde your water. The more dehydrated you get, the weaker you will be. It is better to keep your body sustained for as long as possible without having to deprive it. This will keep your strength up longer and give you a better chance of survival.
Never forget to hydrate. By the time you are thirsty you are dehydrating.
