R.I.C.E.

RICE stands for Rest, Ice, Compress, and Elevate. These are the steps you want to take in treating a sprained ligament. Rest the injured ligament, Ice it for 15 minutes on 15 minutes off, wrap it to stabilize the injury, and elevate the area above your heart.
