I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to Mountaineer Middle School for having me last week to talk with their English classes. Writing is a very solitary existence, and I can get so caught up in the rest of my life I often tend to forget I am a writer, but getting to talk with kids about writing, the process and the book itself is always a nice reminder of what I am.

So, thank you to the administration, the teachers(Mrs. Myers for getting it set up), and especially the students for being one of the best audiences I ever had. Few things are more satisfying than closing a book when you are done reading and seeing an entire class on the edge of their seats waiting for the next words.

Thank you for reminding me I am a writer.
